This is a picture from the Sadona ghost town. Sadon used to be a mining town. They mined silver until the prices dropped and they moved on. But before that the town was thriving. One night apparently while there was some sort of town event going on and everyone was at the town hall a fire broke out and most of the town burned down. They rebuilt it again, and the cool thing about that was that they built it over top of a river that runs ( or ran ) beside it. They build a wooden tunnel for the water to run through and the board walk and buildings were build above it. It lasted quite a while until everyone left because of no work ( the mine shut down ) and after a couple of winters the river under the buildings swelled and washed it away - there was no one there to keep it clear.
They mines are open again but not the town. The lone gentleman there said that they are trying to get it recognized as an historical site so that they can get funding to rebuild it like it used to be. There are a few of the original buildings still there as you can see from my photos.
below is another picture from Nelson. This is a bridge that goes over Kootney Lake on the way to Kaslo.
this is a bear outside my truck window. He was my first picture of the trip, just as I was entering Manning Park. He was just too cute to pass up.

Some starfish under a couple of boulders, I found these while we were out digging for clams for our dinner! We made a clam pizza, very good!
My sis in law, Kathy and my nephew Dylan walking on the beach looking for clams.
Dylan hamming for the camera, he is such a poser! LOL
My brother John, Dylan took this picture all by himself! Not too bad for a 4 year old.
