I think it is time for a new keyboard mine is getting kinda sticky! Well it is my first weekend at the Harrison Hot Springs Festival of the Arts and I am really looking forward to it. My 'little helper' mom is coming with me, which I greatly appreciate. Kabooki has settled in quite nicely now with the family and all is well there.

Last weekend I had the kids over for a sleep out in the backyard and that was fun, we also went and saw the new baby baluga whale and she is soooo cute.

It was a pretty hot day though and we were all very tired when we got back. I have not yet had a chance to edit the photos from that but hopefully on Monday I will get to it and then I will post them in my gallery. I will also get some new beads and pictures up as well.

But I better get going it is 6am and I have to feed my horse porky and go get my mom and vamoose!

Wow! Can you believe it? June is almost gone. Too soon July will be here and so will my first two shows. But at least I am working on putting some stuff together for it. Hmmmm, I do not have too much to say today, but I do have some pictures for you! And a quote, I have been listening to a gentleman by the name of Wayne Dyer and I have really been enjoying his talks. So if it is all good with you I think I will give you a quote from one of his talks and hopefully each time I'm here updating I will have a new one for you.

Not much to report today. I have been crazy busy as usual. My second new fridge ( the first one did not work ) arrived on Saturday and it is even better than the first one. I now have some food in my house which is really nice! My stove also came on Saturday but............. it is missing parts! LOL oh well, what can you do? they have ordered another stove and it will be here eventually. Which is OK because I cant hook it up until the cabinets are installed sometime in July. I have a new little kitten, his name is Kabooki. I will be picking him up on Friday so I will get a pic of him and post it. He is really cute. Omar is spending another night with the doctor, he had to go in for another operation to fix his leg again. He somehow broke his new implants and they had to be  fixed. Well, I guess I did not have to fix them, but the alternative was just not acceptable. At least it was not to me!

and this morning when I got up to let Adam and Frankie out to poo, I discovered a couple of very big and very fat playful raccoons on my lawn! TOO COOL. Adam sat on the back steps and just watched them play.  And even though they knew I was there they just kept right on playing! I think they were  showing off!

Sorry the picture is not very good but it was still kinda dark outside ( 4:45am ) and they were kinda far away and I was in my sock feet. I will get closer next time. He He.

I'm also planning another trip to Nelson, hopefully in August. There is a spiritual retreat for women that sounds really interesting and I would love to go! So, I am already working on getting people organized to take care of my animals and mind my business while I'm away for the 5 days. I also have to get some pieces ready to be juried for a gallery up there ( did I say that already? )

Well, I guess I kinda lied, I did have something to report! But I'm done reporting now for the time being and I'm going to do a bit of torching. Hopefully soon I will have some new beads, and jewelry to put on my website.

OOOOHHHH my goodness!  Well, my bday came and went uneventfully - well kinda I did go downtown Vancouver and had an absolutely wonderful time. So that was all good. I just got back from a far too brief holiday in Nelson, BC. It is soo  beautiful up  there. I stayed in a really nice place - ( Willow Point Lodge )a bit pricey for me yet, but I did not care! I deserve it. I did too much shopping LOL, I bought some really cool hemp/bamboo/soy/cotton clothing. I love the stuff it is so comfortable and soft and sexy and really nice! I made some business contacts as well, so hopefully I will be selling some of my stuff up there!  I made a new friend named Lucille. A very nice lady, she talked me into going for a salsa dance lesson on Saturday night and I had a really Nice time. I drove around and checked out the sites. I drove up some old logging roads and saw a couple of ghost towns. I went to Kaslo for breakfast one morning and decided to do the loop and I also went to a small town called New Denver ( I did some shopping there as well )

I have to admit though, I was feeling a bit homesick my second day up there. But even better yet - when I left I felt really sad to go. It is so pretty up there, when I woke up in the mornings ( usually around 4:30 , don't ask me I did not get that one! ) I could smell the trees. I loved  it. I am hoping to go again soon in August or September depending on work and what have you. I found a place in Kaslo where they have weekend retreats for all sorts of stuff. They have a Buddhist weekend and a tai chi weekend and a weekend to build your own energy collector and a weekend to build your own hut. So cool!

Life is crazy! I have been soooo busy it is not funny, but i like it so it is all good. It is 9:30 at night and I have just sat down for a bit before i go to bed. I just finished putting a coat of paint on in my master bedroom. Soon it will be finished and then I can move my studio. YaY! Tomorrow I'm going to fix my linen closet so I have a place to put towels and sheets and misc. boxes. Then I will work on my smaller bedroom so my nieces and nephews have a place to sleep when they come over. I have a wonderful new fridge and dishwasher - the stove is coming next week. My cabinets will be in the first week of July. I am soo excited! So expect some pictures of the newly finished rooms soon. The are kinda messy right now with tools and building materials every where. But thats what happens some times.

Omar's leg is still not healed yet, i guess he is licking it and that prevents it from healing properly. I did not realize how bad it was, i always thought it was OK for him to lick it. So now he has to wear a cone all the time till it is healed up, and boy is he unhappy about that! I also have to take him for short walks because  he has lost some muscle tone as he did not like walking on it, too sore i guess.

The cats are doing great, they are gonna be a little lost tonight though because I am going to sleep in my new bed in my new master bedroom in my new fuzzy sheets. He He and they wont be able to find me. But it is a king size bed so both of them can now sleep on either  side of my head with tons of room to spare!  ( picture is from Halloween - nija levi, princes' Paris and meadow, Dylan buzz light year )

Oh my goodness, I'm pooped! Ive been working all weekend so far, as usual. But at least is is on my own home. Yesterday I finally got a bit of a start on my garden, I have one bed planted. Now I have to finish the other one ( I might be making two though ) and fill it with dirt and plant some more goodies. I am a new gardener so I do not really know how well things will grow but time will tell. I'm even going to try and grow some melons! I have also done some work on my master bedroom and hopefully by next weekend it will be mostly finished ( I still do not have my doors I ordered a month ago ) and then I can move my studio into the room I'm using as a bedroom now. I have requested to have my appliances delivered next week as well - my cabinets are going to be another 4 weeks and I just do not want to wait any longer.  I want to cook at home! I am so tired of ordering in or eating out. It gets expensive.

I'm going to try and get some torching done tomorrow as it is supposed to rain and rainy days are good torching days.

And I am about to post some more pictures even though I am bagged and just want to sit on the couch. LOL

Hey I have a good excuse this time! LOL. I do not know what I had but jeepers I had it good! One night out of the blue I'm feeling my normal self, then all of a sudden I started to feel kinda sick. There was no warning what so ever, no symptoms of aches and pains, no itchy throat.  Just all of a sudden sick. I was up all night visiting the crown. And the next day I was tired but fine, and the next day I was fine and working then that night I got sick all over again and then felt fine - - - - -the next day it got worse and then got worse no mater what I did. I think may have had food poisoning. Boy was it nasty. After 4 days of eating but not absorbing food and bloated tummy ( I looked like I was 6 mo pregnant [- i wish]! ) yup, I felt horrible. So I finally got my self to the doc's at the hospital Saturday night and got my self sorted out. I hate taking antibiotics, but this time I was really glad to have them. It is amazing how crappy you can feel after not having any food in your system for four days and how long it takes to get over it.

I'm better now and two weeks behind with work trying to catch up and not really doing so. I still have not moved my studio yet which is driving me nuts cause I need a more organized work space. I'm going to post some new pictures tonight - well new to you - i have not had a chance to do any torching again for a bit, but hopefully I will be able to do so this week. Hopefully.

Hey, I'm getting pretty good at this! Its only been 3 days! Well don't you worry I'm sure I can forget eventually to do this LOL. Well, not too much has happened lately, Ive been very busy with work and hopefully tomorrow I will get a bit of torching done. Now that I have 5 confirmed show dates I better get busy! I also want to take some stuff with me to Nelson and see if I cant get in a store up there. I think that would be great, it would give me an excuse to travel.

Omar gave me a bit of a scare, well I'm still worried about him too. The other night when I came home from work he was a little too happy and jumping around all over the place he tore some stitches. I tried to fix it myself but I had to take him to the doctor today - my first kinda day off - and they put in a few staples and gave me some more antibiotics for him. I was really worried that he had done some  really bad damage to his leg, maybe he tore the inside that they fixed. But the doctor said no that the new parts are pretty tough. But I'm still worried, he is limping really bad. I will be glad when he is all better. He is a really good dog.

So, I hope that if any of you are animal lovers that you will send your loving energy to my poor little dog ( well not too little he is about 1201bs! ) so that he will get better and be able to run around and play again.

I like this picture. I know it is an old one but it is a nice  one so I'm putting it up again. I just got word to day ( I just picked up my mail ) that I will be at the Harrison Hot Springs Festival Art Market this year. There well be two dates in July. I think I'm crazy. Yup for sure I'm crazy, that makes a total of  5 events for me this year so far. I'm just waiting to hear from the last one, and hopefully I will know by the end of April. I have soooo much work to do! Hopefully by the end of next week I can have my studio moved and then I will have more space to spread all my junk around and get to work putting together some jewelry and make more beads - I think I need and assistant. Yup, that would be a very good idea - except for one thing - - nobody can do my work for me! LOL. Awww thats OK, I like doing my own work anyhow. Well I'm keeping it short, Ive a long week ahead of me and it is getting close to my meditation time, and I cant miss that or Ill be in big trouble!

Well it was a busy weekend, kind of. I did not get to do what I wanted to do but that is OK because I spent the weekend with my nieces and nephew, and they were pretty well behaved. The girls helped me mow my lawn which was fun, and then they ran around in the yard with their 'babies'. They all spent the night which was not too relaxing but I do enjoy their company, LOL. They are really good kids.

I got a couple of doors for my up stairs and  I was  going to hang them this weekend but with the kids around I did not get that done, OK, to be honest I would not have gotten that done anyhow because I measured wrong! The darn doors are too big! So now I have to haul them back and get smaller ones. Jeese, if you don't think I was a bit frustrated with that! Well, there were a couple of other things as well but that was the worst one. I'm going to move my bedroom from the dining room upstairs and then move my studio ( again ) into the dining room. And there it will stay for a while, seeing as I never really dine.

I will be updating my website pictures and things soon, I have been cataloging everything and fixed all my pictures ( I now have a new photo editing program that is great! ) so I am going to delete all of these ones and start over.

There will also be new beads up as well. I have made quite a few large focal beads and a lot of goddess beads, some with dragons on their backs some with little moths on their hips and some with flowers in their tummies. So, there is lots to look forward too.

I am trying really hard to get some torching done as I need to get busy with not only collecting beads for my auctions but jewelry for all the shows I have coming up. Three confirmed right now and I'm waiting on three more. Its not like I'm already busy, I have to add more work!

Ah to be a Gemini! I think I need to change astrological signs............ can you do that?

 

 

April 9th 2008

Sorry no new pictures yet LOL. Just a quick note to say Omar is home and well. He is pretty sore after his surgery though and is finding it pretty hard to move around, but he is stubborn and he still tries. I have  to help him outside to go to the bathroom and stuff right now. In a couple of weeks, well about 4 I will be able to take him for short walks and then a week or so after that I can take him swimming - if I can get him in the water.

Tomorrow I'm going to go and see about getting some doors for my upstairs bedrooms, I figured I should do those before I put the baseboards on. The weekend is supposed to be nice so the lawn will be mowed and some gardening done and hopefully some work on my deck and some torching too! Phew, I think I should go and nap for the weekend, gather up some energy

April Th?

Today Omar went to the doctors for an operation to get his leg fixed. Yes call me crazy, but I love my dog and I'm not putting him down for a bum leg! I was fortunate this time, it only cost me 1500.00. If it was gonna be more than 2G's ( which was the first suggestion ) ............ well we all know what would have happened then. But not to worry he is well and happy! He gets to have a sleep over with all the other guys and he will be home tomorrow! Then I get to have fun trying to get him out to go Pooh. He is on a diet ( again ) he needs to lose about 15-20lbs. But until that happens I get to try and lift his back end while he walks on the front - don't ask me how. LOL.

Sorry I don't have any new pictures for you. I have not yet made it to the store to purchase photo shop, hopefully on Friday I will, but I have an acupuncture appointment and a massage ( much needed ) and I have to go to Harrison Hot springs with some goodies to be juried. Tomorrow I'm going to try and sit on the torch ( no, not literally! that would hurt! ) and get some beads made. I actually have quite a few to put up but I cannot find a way to resize them yet on my newly updated computer.

Oh, but I did find all my other pictures! YEAH! But I think I will still make new ones, I don't like most of them. On Thursday I plan to get some finishing work done upstairs so I can move my bedroom upstairs ( I have a new bed on the way so I better get busy! ) and then I will move my studio to my old bedroom at the back of the house ( later to be my dining room ). It will be a great place to set up, lots of room to make jewelry and torch and have shelving so I can be better organized. I am sooooo excited.

I'm waiting to hear back yet from the people in Nelson as to which room I'm going to get. I'm very excited about that too! And with my moms bday coming up and it is gonna be mothers day as well ( and fathers day ) if the place is really nice I might just buy a couple of nights in a very romantic room for my mom as a mothers day/bday/fathers day gift. She needs a holiday! I know she would just love it! I don't know if her hubby would, but I don't care it is all about my mom!

Well I'm off for now, I'm working on re-cataloging my pictures so I can be better organized and stuff. Apparently I have a couple of thousand pictures so I better stop rambling and get busy!

Finally! LOL. I was without a computer for about a week, and then, having upgraded to vista I lost all of my favorites and I could not remember how to get here to do any editing! LOL. Oh and it seems I have lost all my pictures so now I have to retake them all, at least a couple of hundred! Crazy, oh and my new photo editing program wont let me resize my pictures either. Crazy.

So, my carpet is in and looks great, Ill fig out the picture thing and then I will post  a photo. Next is my cabinets and appliances. I hope they will be here for my birthday! And in June I'm off to Nelson to check it out, something I have wanted to do for years. It will be a much needed holiday - kinda I'm going to take my 6 year old niece with me for company.

Don't forget to check my coming events as jury time is here and I already have three shows this year and I'm waiting to hear about another two, well three actually but one would be a week long and I don't think I really want to do it for a week it is just too long to take time off of work. Maybe next year!
